Macadamia Processing
Stahmann Farms has been processing macadamias for more than twenty years, and was in fact one of the pioneers of that industry in Australia.
Our macadamia processing plant runs in parallel to the pecan line and uses much of the same technologies and systems which have made Stahmann Farms a world leader in the nut industry.
The Company offers a toll processing service which includes receiving, drying, sizing, storage, bagging, cracking and shelling, packing in bulk or retail form, warehousing and distribution. This unique service enables owners of macadamia nut-in-shell (NIS) to have these nuts processed and to sell the kernel produced at their own discretion.
The macadamia plant has a processing capacity of up to 6,000 tonnes of NIS per annum, and can receive up to 150 tonnes of nut per week for drying prior to cracking.
Our clients include macadamia growers from around Australia as well as most of the country's other major processors who typically direct their overflow to our Toowoomba plant. We have also contract packed for international clients who source macadamia NIS in Australia to be processed to their individual specifications. Enquiries for macadamia processing should be directed to the Business Development Manager, Mr Jeff Dodd on 07 4699 9400 or via email: jeffd@stahmann.com.au
