Stahmann Farms operates several retail packing machines:

• “Volpak” horizontal pouch form, fill and seal machine
• “Tam” vertical form, fill and seal machine
• Stahmann customised vertical form, fill and seal machine
• “Makram” tub fill and seal machine

These machines are suitable for a wide range of retail product manufacturing including

• Pouch (Doy) packs
• Hang-sell “pillow” packs
• Stand-up “block-bottom” packs
• Top-sealed rigid-form tubs

Vertical form, fill and seal machines are fitted with nitrogen to facilitate modified-atmosphere packing to provide extended shelf-life for volatile products. Pack sizes from 30g to 500g can be accommodated.

The “Volpak” machine is a modern, high-speed production unit able to insert zip-lock seals as packs are assembled at rates up to 100 per minute.

The “Makram” machine can accommodate tub sizes up to 100g which are then vacuum sealed with a foil closure.  Popular for the snack and lunchbox market, this style of package presentation can be further enhanced by a cardboard overwrap. 

Retail packing lines are fitted with check-weighers and metal-detectors to ensure accurate and safe product manufacture.

Retail packing services are quoted on the basis of volume and product specification and can be integrated with roasting, flavouring and dicing services as required.

Bulk Packing

Bulk and food service oriented packaging is handled by Stahmann Farms' high capacity bulk-head weigher. Measuring out with precise accuracy 1kg, 2kg, 5kg, 10kg and 11.34kg (25lb) carton sizes, nut kernel is packed into foil pouches, which are both nitrogen-flushed and vacuum-sealed.

Unique to Stahmann Farms is the new offline printing station, with high-resolution printers for coding of outer case cartons. Superior quality TUN barcodes, graphics and texts are printed onto cartons in the exact quantity required, all with an integrated scanner that immediately verifies clarity of coding on each carton. This revolution in packaging technology allows clients to reduce cost by customising generic cartons at the point of packing.
