Chocolate and Pecan Fudge Pie
Ingredients

Sufficient pastry of your choice to line a 23cm pie plate.

Filling

  • 3 large eggs, beaten lightly
  • 1/2 cup golden syrup
  • 250g dark chocolate, melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons plain flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence

Method

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar, beating in the flour, evaporated milk, vanilla essence, golden syrup, chocolate, salt and the pecan halves.

Pour the filling into the pastry shell and bake in a preheated moderate oven 180 degrees Celsius for 1 hour or until the filling is just set and cracks appear on the surface. 

Serve with either whipped cream and/or ice cream.
